The public corporate enterprise Aena (Spanish Airports and Air Navigation), pertaining to the Minister of Public Works and Transport, is in charge of the Spanish air space and the management of a major airport network.

Its network currently consist of 47 airports and a heliport in Spain and 16 airports in the rest of the world.

To manage Spanish air traffic, it deploys control centres and towers in which the latest technology is used.
