| ENAV is the Italian company that provides Air Traffic Control service, as well as other services for air navigation, in Italy’s skies and in 39 national civilian airports. Like any other transportation network, airspace is a precious resource which must be managed in a timely, safe and operationally continuous manner - in step with growth rates in the aeronautical sector. ENAV carries out this task by guaranteeing to thousands of aircrafts flying daily over our skies the possibility of coexisting in utmost safety, following harmonious traffic flows. Such services are guaranteed thanks to the commitment of more than 3.300 employees, two thirds of whom involved in operational activities. Professionals with a high level of specialization who enable the safe navigation of high volumes of traffic with peaks that can exceed 7.600 flights per day. Cruise phases are guaranteed by Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) who operate in the Area Control Centres (ACCs); the ‘overflights’ in Italy’s airspace are managed from these large operations centres situated in Brindisi, Milano, Padova and Roma. ENAV is a component of the European ATM system and it participates with full rights in all the activities of development, operational validation and research, like SESAR and BLUE MED. |
