Easat was founded in 1987 as a specialist independent company to design and build high performance antennas and complete radar systems for a wide range of ATC and long range surveillance applications. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Goodwin Plc, a British mechanical engineering group established in 1883 and now having an annual sales turnover in excess of £58 Million with over 650 employees.
Exporting over 95% of its production, Easat supports equipment in most continents and particularly in North America, Continental Europe, the Peoples Republic of China, India, Korea, and Malaysia. Goodwin International, Easat’s sister company, also has several major contracts within PRC related to the Power Generation Industry.
Primary Surveillance Radar
High Performance Primary ‘S’ Band Surveillance Radar is a core product with both Fixed Station and Transportable variants being available in either metallic or composite form. Both types are capable of being supplied with and without co-mounted SSR, MSSR or smaller IFF antennas and are available for both civilian and military markets.
Secondary Surveillance Radar
Available in single drive or dual drive versions, Easat’s standalone MSSR (Mode ‘S’ capable) Radar can be driven by either the EP1643 or EP0409 Turning Units. Both are highly capable and proven in service with the EP1643 being upgradeable to accept a PSR.
Surface Movement Radar
Easat is a world leader in the provision of very high performance surface movement radar as part of A-SMGCS systems with major contracts with the FAA, Navcanada, UK NATS, Belgocontrol, Skyguide and LVNL plus others totalling over 40 installations worldwide and including Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport. A choice of antennas and transceivers is available offering a range of price /performance alternatives. Antennas range from the very high performance Reflector antenna (EA3462) to the advanced new technology lower cost EA7401M Linear Array specifically developed for the SMR / ASDE marketplace. Both of these antennas offer zero squint with frequency change making them the best suited to operate with either Frequency diverse or Frequency Agile transceivers.
Specialised Turning Units
Easat offers purpose designed turning units to rotate its high performance antennas. These range from the proven EP1643 which is used to rotate PSR antennas in fully iced conditions even with co-mounted SSR’s to the EP0409 which is designed to rotate standalone SSR , MSSR or small reflector antennas. Accompanying these is the low noise, low vibration EP0711 worm drive unit used to rotate the SMR products at up to 60 rpm.
Special Projects
Easat has the expertise, experience and track record in both Mechanical and RF design to provide bespoke product designs for both civilian and military customers and in particular in X band antenna, IFF and Phased Array Design, prototype build and productionisation.
Complete Radar Sensor Packages
Easat also has the expertise and resources to provide the complimentary equipment necessary to make a radar sensor operational including radomes, towers and fully equipped equipment cabins, cross site communications and civil works all tailored to the meet the customers expectations and system requirements.
